Health case studies

Children in poverty have a greater risk of health problems, with poor nutrition, inadequate housing conditions and insufficient medical care increasing the likelihood of illness and disability. The costs of medical treatment can be a particular barrier to healthcare, while lack of information and poor accessibility can also impact negatively on the health of poor children.

Network partners met in Helsinki in April 2009 to exchange best practice solutions for supporting the health of children and families. For more information on this theme, please see our policy bulletin.
