The European Cities Against Child Poverty network will meet for the final time on Monday 30th November. Representatives of local and regional governments and front-line organisations are invited to attend to meet delegates from other European cities and the European Commission. The key findings of the network will be presented at the event and delegates will also hear from:

  • Helen Goodman MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary for Work and Pensions
  • Michelle Kennedy, Head of Child Poverty Policy & Co-ordination, Government Office for London
  • Tricia Griffiths, European Social Inclusion Team, Department for Work and Pensions
  • Managers of best practice projects in Milan, Amsterdam and Helsinki

The key findings of the network will be presented at the event and delegates will also hear from managers of projects from other European cities. At the afternoon workshop UK delegates will have the opportunity exchange knowledge with our European partners and learn from different approaches to improving the lives of children in our cities. The event will also look forward to 2010 European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Inclusion and consider how these findings can support the exchange of knowledge across Europe.
